Music Master Pro Review
WARNING: Music Master Pro is a complete ripoff! I highly recommend you stay away from this course at all costs!
After reviewing over a dozen popular guitar courses on my website, I can honestly say that I have never seen something as awful as "Music Master Pro". This sorry excuse for a guitar course should be avoided, because it's a total SCAM!
The creator, known as Jay Dynasty, does seem to know a thing or two about the basics of playing guitar, but I wouldn't compare him to the average new instructor at a local music shop, let alone a professional. His so-called lessons are boring, he spends most the time showing off with bad technique, and he is horrible at explaining even the simplest things.
If you want to invest in guitar lessons that are actually worth the money, I personally recommend www.JamPlay.com:
I've been playing guitar for about 12 years now, and I taught myself. It sounds cool and all, but I'll be the first to tell you that lessons are well worth it if you can afford them! That said, I still don't like the idea of paying $1,500+ per year, when I know I could learn online, at home, without paying even close to that.
That's why JamPlay is my #1 choice for guitar lessons. They offer a free lesson series to check it all out, and if you decide to go for it, here's a 25% off coupon code I found: 86C6CC. Just pop it in at checkout to save $4.99 on your first month.

Music Master Pro Review
Reviewed by Kyle, the Guitar Lessons Critic
First things first: when I paid the $29.95 for this course, I did so more out of curiousity than because I believed in it. I've seen tons of shady advertisers promoting Music Master Pro, but it's clear they are only doing so for the commission.
Anyway, when I first signed up, I was greeted with an offer to pay even more money for another guitar product. I declined, because it looked just as shady...Then, once I got in the members' area, I saw banners everywhere, promoting other guitar courses!
Wow, this "Jay" guy is really trying to squeeze every last dime out of his customers. Not to mention that he also advertises hip hop sites, foreclosure and seized vehicle auctions, and biz opp trash!
So what about the actual lessons? This is what it comes with:
- 9 Acoustic video lessons
- 8 Electric video lessons
- 4 PDF's (Basic 2-page "theory" lessons)
- 25 MP3's (No content, just him playing & talking)
- Chords & Scales (Just a link to a random chords site)
- Links to guitar tab sites
Honestly, you could get more out of giving a guy on the streets of Chicago a dollar, and talking to him for 10-15 minutes about guitar.
Don't waste your money on Music Master Pro! Private lessons can be expensive, but if unlimited access to 1,000's of HD-quality video lessons from 34 instructors sounds cool, I highly recommend starting out with some free guitar lessons at JamPlay.com:

Pros of Music Master Pro
While I would not recommend this course, here are the few things I did like about it:
- Price: As bad as it is, it's tough to beat $29.95 I guess
- Online: I personally prefer taking lessons online, so this was a good move
- Hmmm...I guess that's it. :)
Cons of Music Master Pro
OK, brace yourself, because this list might get a little long. Here's what I didn't like about Music Master Pro:
- The wild claims: Jay will say anything to get you to buy his course
- Never-ending selling: He tries to get you to buy a bunch of other stuff once you pay him
- Annoying ads: The members' area has tons of ads for unrelated, trashy websites
- Lesson Quality: This is the most important. The actual lessons are totally useless!
- Organization: There is no rhyme or reason to how he organized the videos
- Style: The videos are poorly made with terrible lighting and sound
- Content: I literally tried to find something of value, but my search ended in frustration
- I think you get the picture...
Basically, you won't get anything useful out of this course, unless you've never picked up a guitar in your life, or seen someone play a guitar, or heard a guitar on a CD. Ever. It's not just me, though. Check out what these people said:
Other User Reviews of Music Master Pro
"I found it was virtually useless..."
By "Philip" on October 7, 2007. Found on Yahoo! Answers.
"I purchased Music Master Pro's course because I was interested in their lessons for the bass guitar. After purchasing, I found it was virtually useless. From the reports I've read from most other customers, this is their experience as well. There are a few videos you can download, but overall it is pretty bad quality. Please note I can only speak to the bass guitar lessons however..."
"The guy and his program stink..."
By "RiddimKing" on December 30, 2007. Found on BassTalk Forums.
"A quick Google of "Jay Dynasty" shows that his career has mostly been in selling "get rich quick through the internet" programs. The guy and his program stink of hucksterism. Those samples, btw, are two seconds of riffs that a 7 year old with six months of instruction could easily have come up with and performed."
"It is a ripoff..."
By "Jeferson" from South Carolina, on November 11, 2008. Found on RipOffReport.
"When I first see the website was a great deal, lifetime access to the videos with updates for $39.99 with 24 hours support. Got it, well that was too good to be true.
First it says: Have access to 100s of videos and hours, also says that I was going to learn how to me a producer. Well I just see 14 videos, no more then 30min all of them. And all it is the guy doing music, with out explaining anything, he just say: This is how you do it and do it. He does not teach, he shows how it does. One more thing, about the 24/7 support? I'm still waiting for a anwser on email contact from 3 months ago.
It is a Ripoff. They don't want to return my money
maibe because you can download the videos. He also says that will be updates every month... forget it... no Updates.. Please do not buy those videos..."

"Is Music Master Pro right for me? It's just so affordable..."
I typically like the idea of saving money with guitar lessons, but sometimes you just get what you pay for. This is a great example of one of those times. That said, Music Master Pro costs $29.95 once, but he tries to get you to buy an upgrade right after you buy, then slaps banners for other, more expensive guitar courses in your face when you login.
If you want to save some cash compared to private guitar lessons, JamPlay.com is your best bet. It's $19.95/month, which is about how much some people pay for a single half-hour lesson, but you get unlimited 24/7 access to 1,000's of guitarists by forum, PM, or even web chat, and you can take lessons from (and talk to) 42 professional teachers.
In short: JamPlay is sweet. Music Master Pro is not.
About Jay Dynasty, the Creator of Music Master Pro
Though he claims to be a Sony Records performing artist with 20 years of playing experience, you'll be hard-pressed to find any true evidence that supports this claim. As "RiddimKing" mentioned above, a simple search for his name on Google brings up nothing but scammy websites talking about how to get rich selling trashy programs.
He also mentions that he "taught at many music schools in the USA", but in my opinion if he wanted to spread the word about his credentials, he would use his real name for this course.
The video lessons provided with Music Master Pro feature Jay playing guitar (mostly just showing off annoying metal licks and strumming patterns I've seen played better by 10 year olds.
Though he seems to be lying through his teeth about everything else, at least he can actually play guitar, even if it isn't much better than the average guitarist.
Music Master Pro Review Summary
To sum it all up, here's the bottom line about Music Master Pro:
- The video lessons are unorganized, and poorly made
- Jay Dynasty, the creator, lies about his qualifications
- You could get more value out of talking to someone who has played for 1 year
- The $29.95 may be cheap, but you get what you pay for
- You're better off staying far, far away from this course!
